The Atelier Class Block 4

Students will have completed 76 hours of in-class sessions. At this stage students will have a very good idea of values, composition, working with different mediums and exploring classic and modern Art.

This block will start to build a deeper understanding of colour theory, explore new techniques and work on an art piece for a longer period.

Lessons are 2 hours long.

  • Homework

Homework will require atleast 2 hours per week. We want to commit to on average 104 hours per year self study and development. Homework will be variable subject matters and will be logged in a sketch journal.

  • Research and Discovery

In order to build our own style we must research and discover Art from all cultures and styles. These artistic cues will be represented in art that we produce to tell a unique story. We will be reading works to enhance this.

  • Fieldwork

We will be taking trips to galleries where specifically curated guides will be delivered. We will also conduct sketches and outdoor paintings and art if the weather allows.
