“There really is no such thing as Art. There are only artists.”- Ernst Gombrich
Note from our Artist and Teacher
My name is David and I teach the art sessions at Art from the start. My aim is to enrich students with the ability to build confidence, patience, tenacity, and positive thinking through art. I believe that all children should learn art to improve dexterity, subdue traumas and stresses, enhance hand to eye coordination, and self-expression. Our sessions will walk hand in hand with different compositions of art, using a variety of different mediums, such as pencils, colour pencils, paints and pastels. The in-class sessions are held in London, and online sessions can be held anywhere in the world, in addition to that the online sessions can be designed around your schedule, which not only suits homeschooling, but also those in elected schooling.
The sessions will also be accompanied by Art History and theory mini-documentaries in order to add theory to the practical skills. I decided a holistic approach to fine art would help teach a more comprehensive outlook. Due to the nature of some historic art I have deemed it inappropriate to be taught to my audiences due to nudity, or compositions of a salacious nature, or gore. Therefore, I will only document art that is historically significant and is considered appropriate for young ages. .
